ars, artis (latin)
I. Skill in joining something, combining, working it, with the advancement of culture carried entirely beyond the sphere of the common pursuits of life, into that of artistic and scientific action.
II. Skill applied in mental cultivation to morals, designating character, manner of thinking, so far as it is recognized by external actions.
