A reproduction, that is a “once again-creation”.
This once-again-created has of course a much lower depth than the original seen. For example, surface structures or reflections are missing. Still, the reproductions here try to come as close as possible to the original work, try with slightly different means – different light, different paper, different color, … – to represent the spirit of the work as well as possible. Yet, of course, the reproduction always interprets the original work and sometimes different versions can be found. Compared to the original work, however, the reproduction is always a primarily technical process.
Already the original work is a reproduction. It tries to reproduce the original experience of a deeper reality with the completely inadequate means of our ordinary world, at least to point to this experience.
